It is with deep sadness that we have learned that the old timer and renown Dx-er Jim Smith, VK9NS passed away peacefully on Norfolk Island at 15:40 local time on 10 February 2009 after a short illness. Jim Smith had a great contribution in Bangladesh to convinced our Govt. to reopen the Amateur Radio In Bangladesh. He came Bangladesh several time and met to Govt. Officials and Amateur Radio Entrusts. He operate from here using the call sign “ S21U” and “S21ZA”.

Many thanks for the information about the forthcoming expedition to St Martin's Island, AS-127. The S2 prefix is all too rare on the bands and it is very pleasing to see that the IOTA expedition will be undertaken by local operators. Your web site looks very professional and you will no doubt find is a great help in inspiring the radio community
